Character Design: Screen Test

Client: Peter C. Hayward

Brief: Illustrate a “slightly douchey director type” mascot (and create an accompanying logo that could be used both with and without the mascot) for a series of standup comedy nights.

I really enjoyed this job – it’s fun to have the opportunity to create a character with real personality – so I’ve included some of my developmental sketches for “Alan Smithee”. I believe a couple of them suffered an excess of personality.
